Indianapolis native Robert Eberle studied at Herron School of Art, the Indianapolis Art Center and Scottsdale School of Art, in addition to taking workshops from nationally known artists. An active artist since 1992, he has won top awards in every major Indiana art competition, including "Best of Show" twice at the prestigious Hoosier Salon Annual Exhibition. As a founding member of the Indiana Plein Air Painters Association, he joined four other artists in the original Painting Indiana project in 2000, helping to create Painting Indiana: Portraits of Indiana's 92 Counties, and was subsequently invited to participate in paint outs in Arizona, Wisconsin and Indiana.
Known for loose, impressionistic paintings, Eberle achieves a sense of the poetic in his work, which depicts his appreciation of nature and the environment.
