Sharon earned a graphic design/visual communications degree from John Herron School of Art in Indianapolis, Indiana, but the lure of turpentine and colorful paint brushes was too much for temptation to resist. A self-taught painter, she expresses a love for rich colors and humor in her art.
She has won several awards and has been accepted into many juried competitions - including the Hoosier Salon, the Southside Art League Regional in Greenwood IN, the Indiana Artists Club Annual Show, the Annual Heartland Artists Show in Plymouth IN, the Midsummer Art Show in Seymour IN, the River Valley Regional in Lawrenceburg IN, the Indiana State Fair, and the National Oil & Acrylic Painters Society Exhibit in Osage Beach MO. She has many works in private collections throughout the United States, - including several commissioned portraits.
Her paintings focus on the impact of a strong design, the rich colors of oils, and the emotional connections that she discovers - especially through the seasons of the Indiana landscape.
